MOSONiE (Common Wealth) Foundation, a Non Profit Organization based at Pillangkata Village under Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya celebrated pre World Environment Day on 3rd June 2016 with the theme “Create Recreate and Rejuvenate the Available Resources” by distributing and planting 800 fruit saplings in 5 far flung villages namely Umlathu, Jolysiem, Timbogre, Upper Jorbil and Pillangkata, under Umling and Jirang Block of Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya. It also happen to be the first ever celebration in these areas. The event was supported by ICAR Umiam, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) NERC, BSNL Shillong and SBI Khanapara Branch. In line with this MOSONiE team organized a cleaning drive in the respective villages and created awareness on the importance of healthy and green environment.  The team also deliberated on how the fruit trees can generate resources in the future if they are given proper care. To encourage the villagers, the organization had also declared that award will be given to the best care taker of the fruit trees in the next coming World Environment Day.
